A merry band of hikers left the bank at 9am sharp and made the 27km trip north of town to the parking lot outside the gates to Mississagi PP. After applying copious quantities of bug dope we then proceeded south for about 100yds then deaked into the woods on the western side of hwy 639. The trail to the turn off for Fullerton lake was fairly wide and worn but once we past that the trail closed in, it was amazing to see the growth that took place since our scouting trip about 10 days ago. After reaching the big swamp we bush-wacked down towards Flack Lake following the flags we had placed earlier on our scout. We had the campsite to ourselves and we relaxed for a quick snack while contemplating a fall hike to get closer to Old Baldy ( perhaps an overnighter ) when the conditions are cooler, drier and less buggy. It took us about 1hr 45min to reach the campsites from where we parked the cars. On the way back we detoured down for a quick look at Fullerton Lake, total distance was between 8.5-9km, and we arrived back at the bank approx 105pm...
