Four of us checked out the Jackrabbit Trails. We entered from the Hydroline Trail off the Firetower Rd. After several severe up and down climbs past pesky thorny Berry bushes and squishy puddles we arrived at the Blue Trail Junction with Fuddle Duddle .
There are new signs marking directions to Fuddle Duddle,
Firetower and The Bench. They are coded to show how challenging the hills are. There are even signs indicating the etiquette for Trail users. They are useful for anyone.
Thanks to Ski and Bike Club!!
We did meet another hiker wearing a weight vest for physical training. His Black Labrador had a bright red bandanna. Not sure for ID purposes or for gang affiliation! It was a friendly pup, anyway.
Our Trail was predominately through birch, maple and oak trees. We could see there were thickets of hemlock, cedar and some pine and Spruce.
Lunch break was at the bench half way up the Firetower Rd.
Back down that same road to the cars and we were back at the cars.
A calm, cloudy day for a 5.50 km. hike.
