Chuck talked Theresa into his Bevi pack, old smoothy!2 canoes, 1 kayak and a Zodiak inflatable headed out to the Benjamin Islands in the north channel of Lake Huron last Weds. The trip was delayed by 2 days due to very heavy westerlys creating 2 to 3 metre waves out in the channel. A secluded campsite had been discovered by accident last year on a previous expedition. The Zodiac crew went for the day only, due to commitments later in the week. The danger always in the north Channel is becoming "island bound" due to strong winds preventing return.
