Clearing the Hope Lake trail

Hope Lake clearing - before
Hope Lake clearing - after
Clearing a downed Douglas fir - yeah, right!
Amazing things, those loppers!

Following the scheduled hike to Hope Lake a few weeks ago, when we found the trail quite overgrown. It was decided it had to be cleared and a crew of us, namely, "Bearded" John, Liz, Igrid, Heather and Phill, went in a couple ago to do it. Thanks, belatedly, guys!. It was heavily overgrown, ferns about 12 feet high, miscellaneous undergrowth and Douglas firs strewn all over. We are sure we spotted a Bengal tiger and a silverback gorilla as we hacked our way through. We managed about half the trail and will do the rest when this rainy weather passes over.
