Woodpecker Trail, Sept 21

Chuck will tell us if they're edible. Of course, he tells us, "all mushrooms are edible, at least once!"
On the road again!

We rescued this shy painted turtle!

A large group of 19 turned out for the hike on Thursday. The Woodpecker Trail (Starts from the road leading from the razed All Nations Terrace and goes up behind Westview and Frame) had been cleared by Ingrid, Liz & Chuck a week or so earlier and they had done a great job with the prolific summer growth and remarking. Thanks for that. This is a pleasant woodland trail through a shady area only minutes from town. We extended the hike beyond the trail end to a point past Slipper Lake and explored the possible trails from the disused gravel pit on the west side. As expected these trails have fallen into disuse and are completely overgrown. Thanks to "Bearded" John for the photos.
