Boland River hike Aug. 16th

An ATV had been thru on the Boland River trail and made our progress easier. It was a beautiful day for a hike and we were able to ford the river at Wilkie Lake and search for the trail that used to run up to the fire tower. No sign of it, completely overgrown. We met an MNR officer on an ATV on the return trip, Denis Benoit, and chatted with him. The 2, large yellow fallen birches that used to tower over the trail near Wilkie Lake have now collapsed to the trail and require a little climbing ability to cross. Thx "Bearded"John for the pics.Rarin' to go!
