Quirke Lake via Oullette Lake

I had twelve hikers show up this morning, Sat. 31st. Jan., for the hike to Ouellette Lake which we reached from the May Lake trail on Stanrock road. Only ten completed the hike as one was feeling under the weather at the halfway point, so two returned to the vehicles by way of Moose Lake. The conditions were near perfect for the twenty-five minute crossing of Quirke Lake, no wind and a light dusting of new snow with steep rock bluffs providing the back drop. We had lunch on the shore of Ouellette Lake and returned to the cars via Moose Lake to Stanrock Road. The hike ended at 1:05 PM with coffee at Tim's. Good positive feedback about the hike even if it was a little long for a Saturday outing. New John B
