Steve had eleven hikers out on the cross country ski trails near Blind River. The Weather Channel had predicted that the sun would break through the cloud cover before noon and they were bang on. With no breeze and 11C temperatures and blue skies overhead it was a perfect day, the only draw back were the small bugs that showed up for lunch at the lakeshore. This area is a lot like Sheriffs Creek but covers a much larger area and it has quite a bit of informative signage throughout. In the winter the trails are groomed for cross country skiing so they are wide and mostly flat with some gentle hills and crushed stone for a base. We invaded Tim Horton's in Blind River and arrived back in Elliot Lake by 1:30 PM.
