Half Moon Lake via Little May Lake

John was planning on trail and snow clearing!
 Through the old logging area
Little May Lake creek
 Little May Lake
 Half moon Lake

 Good fire going
 Someone let it die!
Thank goodness for the prop holding the rock up
At the bottom of "the hill "
 Climbing, climbing, climbing the hill
They're not kidding!
"New " John took 14 of us on one of his favourite hikes to Little May Lake and then on to Half Moon Lake. The trail starts near the end of Stanrock Road and winds through an old logged area and then heavy woods to Little May Lake. A light snow was falling and it was a pleasant, scenic hike. We had lunch at Half Moon Lake and lit a fire, which was allowed to die by the minder!
We saw otter tracks and the hike ended when we climbed the longest hill (which goes on and on and on and on!!) on any of our hikes back to the cars. The trail was very slippery in places, causing one of our members to fall painfully. Coincidentally where we had several falls a couple of years ago.
The snow was falling quite heavily on the return, but still not enough requiring snowshoes.
Thx to Scott for pics and comments.
