Quirke Tailings Jan 4th

Almost ran out of parking space!
Ok! What is it, marsh grass, cat tails or bull rushes?? (Or some invasive species from elsewhere?)
By the left, quick march! Sergeant major with the troops.
 Another causeway to cross.
Otter tracks. We saw it crossing the road ahead of us.
Deep valley from one of the far dams.
 Dunlop Lake in the distance.
We know what you were doing!!
Jean-Guy lead 22 of us to the Quirke tailings area. A fairly long, but generally flat, hike across this vast area of tailings ponds and dams. We saw an otter and its tracks. One new hiker, Colleen, welcome. Thx to Scott for the pics.
