McCarthy Lake

Tuesday, 29th. March, looks like 13? took advantage of a beautiful day to walk down McCarthy Lake Road and have lunch at the falls. That is one of the sites, I believe, where construction of a hydro dam is in the plans. Thx Maureen for the pics.

Who we are

Welcome to the blog of the Coureurs de Bois Outdoors Club headquartered in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.

We are a very casual hiking club.

We have about 250 kilometers of trails in the pre-cambrian shield, a beautifully scenic and fairly rugged area of lakes, wetlands and rocky areas amply covered by all manner of flora and fauna.

We offer leisure, easy and intermediate hikes, snow shoe hikes and special events throughout the year.
