Easy Hike Rochester Falls January 21

Commentary by Pim and Astrid.  Photos by Al, Pim and Astrid.
Twenty-three people, led by Shelley, went up to Quirke Lake and Rochester Creek on a crisp sunny January 21.
The temperature was a cool -14 degrees but the beautiful sunshine and lack of wind made it feel much warmer. We snowshoed from the end of Panel Mine Road along an old bush road along the north shore of Quirke Lake, taking in some nice views of the lake and winding up at our lunch spot at the bottom of Rochester Creek with a great view of the lake and its islands.
