Restricted Fire Zone

An important reminder to all Coureur de Bois Hiking Club members.  Due to continuing hot dry weather and extreme forest fire hazard, the Ministry of Natural Resources has imposed a Restricted Fire Zone.  No campfires are allowed at this time.  Check with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Current Fire Situation website for updates on the fire ban.


Similarly, both the City of Elliot Lake and the Town of Blind River have imposed fire bans. The restriction means there is no burning or open flames allowed.  In addition, all burning permits are cancelled, meaning no campfires, no burning in outdoor fireplaces or fire pits, no incinerator burning and no brush or slash burning.
