I led 8 hikers through the fields, stopping for views above the 2 dams in the Stanrock Tailings Management Area. We then hiked over to Rooster Rock for lunch, with a view of Quirke Lake. After lunch we hiked back along a grassy trail. We heard two sandhill cranes in the distance, then 1 sandhill crane crossed the trail in front of us; the other one flew over top of us. It was a hot, hazy & humid day for the hike, with lots of rest stops in shady areas
