Chuck advises the following; there are at least two colonies of yellow jackets (a viciously stinging wasp) on the upper part of the Beaver Mtn. trail. These critters typically build their nests in ground cavities or low tree cavities. I would caution hikers to stay on the trail to avoid getting stung.
