Volunteer Fair a Success: Our club had a display table in the April 27 Volunteer Fair. Thanks to Brenda, Rae, Shirley, Diane K.
Dianne H., Astrid, Gerry J and all of the hikers who joined us after Saturday's Hike. We enjoyed music, food, meeting people from other volunteer groups and talking to visitors who were interested in our club. There were presentations of certificates of recognition to volunteers from each club. Our club had a distinguished volunteer who was recognized. No name will be mentioned; BUT she and her husband lead the hike on Saturday!!! Highway 108 Clean Up . Here are 2 possible dates for our clean up. Monday, May 6 OR Friday, May 10 depending on the weather. We need about 10 volunteers to pick up garbage along the sides of the highway between Depot Lake and the Airport. It usually takes about 2 hours. We meet at Sears parking lot . Emily will supply garbage bags and jab sticks. Please wear work gloves, Water, bug spray and sunscreen might be needed as well. We will have a better idea of Monday's weather conditions by Friday, May 3. Please email Emily at frew1954@yahoo.ca if you can help out. There will be a Treasure in the Trash Award given for the most amazing piece of highway garbage found on that day. Does it get any better!!!???"
