Charlotte and I led 7 members up the Firetower Rd. The road was clear; no snow, ice, muck or traffic and we took our time on the steep ascent. We watched a pileated woodpecker and saw fresh bear tracks in the play area. Turkey vultures circled relentlessly which caused Joan some distress - she put on quite a display of lively activity to convince them that she was not their next meal. We had a leisurely and comfortable lunch at the Lookout. PHOTOS
