Mississaugi Park has offered our club a free campsite during July and August. Gerry and Nicky have been there and say it is great. Our responsibility at this campsite is to be Park Ambassador for visitors asking for general info about trails and the park.
There is a call now for some of our volunteers to fill in at the campsite from July 4 to July 12.
The campsite is free and reserved for volunteers from the Coureurs de Bois and their visitors. Gerry and Nicky will leave their screened dining tent at the site.
The only thing that the volunteer / camper is expected to do is be available to answer questions about hiking trails or information about park hours . We need to be available at the campsite for 2 hours a day.
Any other time you are free to swim, canoe, kayak, hike or chill out. We do not take money at the Park gate nor are we to act as security guards if there are silly campers.
It is quite alright to just go for a day to the campsite. You do not have to camp there over night.
We are considered "Park Ambassadors".
If you are able to help out please call Gerry Jean at 705-461-6304 and leave a message.
