Special Hike
Date: Wed. June 25
Time: 9:00 a.m. Meet in the Sears Parking lot.
Whitefish River First Nation has kindly allowed our hiking group to hike its sacred site called Dreamer's Rock. They ask for a $5.00 donation from each hiker. They insist that we not take photos of the Sacred PowWow grounds and of the trail to Dreamer's Rock. We are also asked not to eat while on the Dreamer's Rock trail.
We have 2 options for this hike.
Option A. Hike only. Make sure that the people in your carpool all have
the same plans after the hike. Either return home to Elliot Lake or stop somewhere for lunch/ shopping on the way home.
Call Emily at 705-848-5980 if you plan to do Option A.
Option B Hike. Kayak after completing the hike to Dreamer's Rock. Make sure that everyone in your carpool has the same plan to kayak after the hike.Contact Jean Guy or Rae Letarte (705-848-2544) if you plan to do Option B.
Due to rising cost of gas, the driver of your carpool would probably appreciate a donation to help pay for fuel. About $10.00 might be reasonable.
As per usual pack water, good walking/ hiking footwear. a small snack, sunscreen and bug repellent.
