Highways and Tailings hikes

On Tuesday the 16th we once again headed north of town and walked along Highway 546 west of 639.  The spring temperature was perfect for lunch along the Little White River.  We covered a distance of just over 6 kms and didn't see a single vehicle except our own. Looks like Jim and Sue are ready for the Camino! PHOTOS

Saturday the 20th a larger group of thirteen hikers enjoyed an outing at the Quirke tailings.  The softer cushion underfoot was a nice change from the asphalt of the previous few hikes.  We saw a very curious snow bunting, though the elk managed to remain hidden.  PHOTOS
