Our last Monday hike of August ( summer?) had a turnout of 20 happy hikers. Wonderful weather conditions with cooler air and a nice breeze. We started out at the Miners Monument and made out way around south end of Horne Lake and then proceeded to the Horne Island. We had two new hikers with us today...one a visitor originally from Elliot Lake and a new local hiker. Even with 20 hikers we did not get into a " slinky" effect making it easier for myself and my sweep. Our break was on the island where we have our winterfest snowshoe hike goodies. Most of us enjoyed further chat and laughter at Mcds after the hike.
