Photos and commentary by Emily:
Three hikers started out and 4 returned from the Thursday, August 22 hike on the Snowshoe Trail.
A visitor from Ottawa joined us as part of our group from the parking lot.
The trail was well marked. Cranberries were plentiful
as were blueberries and raspberries.
At our lunch break on the Serpent River we were joined by another club member who recognized our vehicle at the trailhead and came to join us.
Good timing.
We saw 2 sandhill cranes on the trail near the minesites. The mushroom varieties are really growing fast and furiously throughout the bush. One in particular caught our eye . We guessed it to be a puff ball but not sure.
A good day with a nice breeze.
