Our Thursday hike was enjoyed by 6 hikers. It was a gorgeous day ! We hiked the entire Spine Rd Ski Trail with a side trip to the Red Briffet Lookout. We took our time in the first 5 km as we started our trek on the hills of the back part of the Ski Trail.
We stopped for our leusurely lunch break at the warming hut overlooking Quimby Lake. It was startling to see 2 turkey vultures soaring in the updrafts right in front of 2 hikers at the lookout! When a camera was brought out, the turkey vultures disappeared.
Red Briffet Lookout with the majestic stands of hemlock never fails to impress.
Throughout the trail colours of the leaves in the trees and on the ground added to the brightness of the sunny day.
On the last part of the hike we increased our pace as the trail was not as hilly.
We got back to the cars at 2 30 pm.
