Call for Writers
During
my first year and half of hiking with Coureurs de Bois I have heard some
wonderful stories about dedicated members and their contributions to hiking in
Elliot Lake. I have also been interested to learn about the history of the
group and its growth but have found this information harder to come by.
So, as the dead of winter descends upon us, sharpen your pencils, dig up
the facts, and let’s get writing!
Topics
may include but are not limited to:

Why the name Coureurs de Bois (a mini history lesson here)
·
Elliot Lake and her surrounding trails & lakes
·
Coureurs de Bois builders (lets honour the work done by those
who starter it all)
·
Interviews of builders and their recollections
·
History of the club (likely would need to be broken down into
chunks)
·
Some bio info about the people for whom trails are named (
Liz’s, Helen’s, Grant’s trails etc)
Suggestions:
___ 250 – 300 words
___ prose, dialogue, verse or where ever your creative
juices lead you
___ submissions will be reviewed and verified for
accuracy where required and ensure any required permissions are obtained
Interested
contributors can submit their articles to me by attaching to an email and
sending to jabber.barilko5@gmail.com. If you are interested in
helping to verify, organize and present this material as a tool to help promote
Coureurs de Bois, please let me know and we’ll form a committee specifically
for this project.
