Jim led 15-16 hikers north to a trail off Denison Mine road along the Serpent river.. started out wet and snowy for a bit and rain gear came out.. good footing and small hills, perfect Monday (easy) hike. lots of birds about as there are feeders set up near the parking area.. met a dog walker and two large friendly dogs who got along with everyone but each other.. lots of mosses and lichens in evidence, a patch of reindeer moss looked like snow from afar, at least to me.. followed a very pleasant trail through the woods to return to the cars.. and then the sun came out....
