.Astrid and Marty led us down the Snowshoe trail this brisk morning... as usual, once we hit the trail it warmed up. Small branches littered the trail after last night's wind and snow but other than the one small detour (which Marty and I cleared up on the return leg) all was clear. We hiked in as far as the marsh and stopped for snack/water. Rested and sated returned through the peaceful woods, stopping often for photo ops as the Serpent river is on one side of the trail. The swamp crossing is not frozen yet (I volunteered to test it) so we still needed the bypass. 20 hikers, 7 for coffee at McD's. More snow north of town but still only a few inches..
