President’s Report -
Many thanks to all who helped with trail clearing. A special thanks go to Heber D., and Brian P., they put in a lot of time and effort. Kudos for a job well done.
David N., thanks the outgoing executive and trail-masters who will not be returning. Many trails have been expanded and renewed, the Win lkie Trail, Halo trail around Angel Lake, h Lake Trail (Spine Beach) to Sandy Point, and lots of work around the Cobre. Over a mile of flagging tape has been used!
Our paid membership stands at 102 members. Our club ranks second in VTA membership numbers. (Next to the SSM club). We are 1/3 of the total VTA membership.
Sirje P., and Steve C., to be trained as New Hike Leader Trainers on November 26 by Gerry J. We also have new Hike Leader’s being trained.
ScotiaBank parking lot will resume being our meeting place for hikes as the paving has been completed.
Trail Safety - The Hike Leader has the final say as to a persons ability to do that days’ hike. Difficult hikes may be ad hoc. Hike Leader meetings will refresh our need to check for proper footwear, the meaning of the whistles (1 for stop, 2 for stop and return to the sound of the whistle, 3 to
stop immediately and return). Gerry J., will be coming to the next Hike Leader meeting to refresh the rules for us. Also, the Hike Leader needs to tell the sweep what they want them to do on a hike!
We are hoping to resume with our sign-in sheets.
The new Senior Hike (Thursday afternoons @ 1 pm) has been a great success. Great idea Chuck Z!
