SNOWSHOE 2021 12 09

Brian's first official led  hike today.. up to Panel Mine road to the Snowshoe trail and true to it's name we were on snowshoes..  swamp was frozen so we skipped the bypass and followed the east trail up to the river crossing... a brief rest and back down the west arm to the cranberry bog... it was frozen enough to walk on so we traversed it and snacked at the logs beside it.. through the thick woods back to the main trail to finish the loop.. did not take me long to get back my rhythm, first hundred yards or so.. scenery was amazing with the deep woods covered in snowy branches.. a cold start but had my jacket open for the return.. that may be due to the pace the trail breakers set... a new Zimbabwe, Irish, English Canadian joined us..  good choice Brian and good leadership.. nearly three hours or wonderful nature and companionship.
