A cold morning found 8 of us hungry for a hike.. north to Panel Mine road and east to the end for a snowshoe bush walk.. followed the trail down to Rochester falls.. many tracks in the snow, people have put seed out for the birds, I saw chickadees and junco.. a new hiker came and acquitted herself well.. 3 hours in and back.. nice rest at the falls.. most of Quirke is open but the bays around are frozen over... cuppa coffee was good on the return..
