Extraordinary Meeting of Coureurs de Bois Outdoor Club Members
Tuesday, April 12, 2022 (7:00 pm at the clubhouse as usual)
Your Executive believes that the Coureurs de Bois is, and should be,focused on training and supporting hike leaders, safely maintaining and building good trails, leading interesting appropriately challenging hikes,and providing our membership with healthy, outdoor activity… and the odd bonfire.
The priorities of the Voyageur Trail Association (VTA) are focused on changing membership rates and protocols, monetizing their website, selling merchandise, negotiating a MOU with Parks Canada, making online donations from trail signs and more. These priorities no longer align with Coureurs de Bois values and objectives.
Therefore, the membership is being asked to gather on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 7:00 pm for a secret ballot vote on the following resolution:
Be it resolved that the Coureurs de Bois Outdoors Club will sever all tieswith the Voyageur Trail Association (VTA) and independently function with insurance for the operation under coverage with Hike Ontario.
In the event you are unable to attend this very important meeting a proxy ballot will be emailed to you .
