In past years the club would have special hikes where there would some light trail clearing performed. These hikes would be light clearing using loppers, pruners and our small electric pruning saws. This is an excellent way of keeping our trails in pristine condition while adding to the fun and camaraderie of our hikes.
The plan going forward will be to do one hike and clear per month. To cover all the trails that we hike, we will rotate the days in which we do the hike and clear. The first hike and clear will be on Monday, October 3. The next will be Tuesday, November 1 and so on.
Everyone will not be expected to carry or use tools when we do these special hikes, however helping out in whatever way one can would be great.
Heavier trail clearing will be performed on non hiking days as it has been in the past.
