Today was the dedication of Emily’s Trail and what better way to honour Emily than to take a hike on her namesake trail. A group of 20 hikers set out on a perfect day for a hike along the shore of Elliot Lake, the fog still lingering above the water, adding to the beauty. The “slinky effect” was very evident today as it was a larger group, but no one lost due to the dynamic duo who served as our sweeps! AJ showed us what “sweeping from the middle” looked like, lol - thanks Art and AJ! We stopped for a short break at the second beach along the trail, and then headed back in order to make it back in time for the dedication of the trail. A beautiful, well cleared and marked trail!

It is an honour.
Lots of laughs were had during the trail work. I am sure many more laughs and good times are to be had by all who hike this trail in the future.
