Yes, there was a nip in the air and it was the 8th of December, not the 7th... Ten hikers were not deterred by the cold and the sun and snow on the trees was nice. We explored "the pink trail" which the hike leader discovered 2 winters ago. We even managed to find more pink trail markers. The trail led us to the west of Slipper Lake to marvel at 3 wrecked cars and 1 serviceable, tarped kayak. Ice has begun to form on the lakes. Our fire was on top of a hill but we could not see the lake for the trees. The fire was easily put out with the new snow. A compass march brought us back to the ATV trail and an easy hike home. Looking forward to the Christmas cookout.
