WOODPECKER TRAIL SYSTEM 2013 01 10

All responsible hike leaders go through their checklist before leaving home.  They check that they have the following:

Backpack;
Snack and water,;
Gaiters;
Appropriate clothing;
Appropriate footwear.
Sign up sheets.

All started out well until it was time to drive to the starting point.
This responsible hike leader had everything but her snowshoes!
She explained the situation to the participants and met them at our starting point after a quick trip home to retrieve the gear.

Fourteen of us enjoyed the Woodpecker Trail System' s myriad of trails.

 Lunch was at a cliff overlooking
Slipper Lake.

We shared  trail stomping duties
on the different trails.

Squirrel, mice, fox and wolf tracks were plentiful. It looked like the mice had their own version of the Hwy 401 and Hwy 400 interchange. There were so many little footprints  all in the same direction and veering off left and right!!

Anyway, all ended well after a distance of 7.50 km
