DENISON MINE TRAILS 2023 03 27

Well, we started our hike with 12 people and returned with 13!!

Chuck joined us as we were just starting our lunch break at the largest erratic in the Denison Trail System.
We had one wise hiker who kept her snowshoes while the rest of us opted for boots and ski poles.
Our original destination was the first bird feeding station on the Serpent River. This, however, proved to be not challenging enough for the enthusiastic group.

We went up hills to get a better view of the Denison berm. Then we went down some hills only to go back up other hills to reach the largest erratic in that area. That was our lunch spot.

People rested and took stock of their wet socks and ankles after a few deep missteps off the trail!!

Chuck joined us there. People seemed to agree  that this erratic is the same size or even bigger than the one on the Helenbar Trail.

We returned to our cars through a stand of  some red pines.

A good day for a hike!!
