Due to snow clearing woes, parking at the monument was the only available.. So 9 of us went there and donned snow shoes in the 7 degree heat. North to the dead end and back to the path down to Horne Lake. Breaking trail in the heavy wet snow was a chore but we soon joined the sled trail.
We followed that trail out to the ski hill and it was tough going. Monday hikes are supposed to be easy but the wet snow made for harder steps.. back to the monument and rest.. coffee and a chat finished the morning.. thanks Ginette for sweep duties
