Seven hikers, accompanied by numerous flying, biting insects, strolled along Wolf Run enjoying the very pleasant sun through the trees.
Walking in a largely deciduous forest allowed great views well back into the trees. The group explored a side trail to a small waterfall that two experienced hikers recommended. We passed a pond full of water lilies in bloom, and, although the flow of water through the waterfall was very frugal, we enjoyed a moment to relax on the rocks in the sun.
Some scat, green iridescent dragonflies, a fading lady slipper and bioluminescent wood were noted and appreciated by all.
A glorious day to stroll in the woods with good company.
