9 brave hikers ignored the high temperatures and heat warnings and hiked the entire length of Emily’s Trail. We were grateful for the shade along the entire trail and a gentle breeze from the lake which occasionally brought some relief from the heat. We admired the new bench that has been placed on Emily’s Trail, and of course, we had to have our picture taken with it!
We stopped for our snack break at Sandy Point, where we enjoyed the sun, a breeze off the lake, and dipping in the water. A new hiker joined us today, and we think we will keep her - she packed snacks galore for all of us!The heat increased on our hike back, but with plenty of water breaks, we all made it back to the cars safe and sound, and soaking wet!
