Scott's Woods 2023-07-03

Sunny skies and very warm temperatures necessitated a very easy, sauntering pace for our group of ten, including a guest, throughout our hike in shady Scott's Woods.

The mosquitos welcomed us in numbers as we meandered through the large hemlock, maple and poplar forest. Various flora was identified, including elderberry. Dave shared a recipe for a refreshing tea made from elderberry flowers. A side trail took us out under the hydo lines and a well used campfire site and a beautiful view down the hydro line.

Pleasant hike with plenty of conversation, laughs and hydration stops.
Many thanks to all, particularly Chuck and Camilla, for their diligent work picking up trash along our path.  PHOTOS
