Thursday, August 31st dawned as a bright, sunny morning at a brisk 6 C !!!!
It warmed up and nine hikers set off for the back entrance to the Yellow Trail at Sheriff Creek Trails. We climbed hills to the Jackrabbit Trail System at the world famous Erratic and picnic table.
From there we headed up several hills that were marked as Expert or Advanced Only. Undaunted , we continued to join the Coureurs de bois/ Voyageur hiking trail heading east from the Mount Dufour Trails.
After lunch at the Firetower our group walked down the road past the swamp to the lower entrance to the Woodpecker Trail. We followed that back to the Erractic and picnic table and retraced our steps to the cars.
Total distance 7.75 km.
Because we are almost at Back to School time, here is a quick report.
Good weather + good trails + good company = a great hike.
