The threat of rain did not deter the 4 happy, enthusiastic hikers. We explored a new trail to a minor lookout on Esten Lake across from Long Island. Thanks to Don for carrying the loppers so the hike leader could improve the lunch spot when we arrived. There was only a brief light rain, so the leader's interpretation of the radar was flawed. A rugged 3.5 hour hike up and down rocky slopes which was a good warm-up for the upcoming Killarney trip.
