MOUNT MCBEAN 2023 08 27

12 hikers joined our guide on the trail to Mount McBean.

We drove down the highway to Sagamok territory and met with Alan our guide.. parking on the side of the road we headed into the bush trail carrying our packs and various implements of the sharp variety.
The trail had not been used for a few years but easily followed. Cutting, sawing and gnawing our way uphill and learning native history from Alan, we proceeded for two hours to a lookout point that oversaw the north channel at McBean harbour.
Stopping for a rest and snack we divided our group, half went on to the top and the wise (old) legs retraced our steps back to the car.
You will have to get the rest of the story from a youngster.
Stopped for ice cream on the way home.
Thanks to all who drove, Jean Guy and Alan for organizing and all the trail tyrants for the clean up.. it is now a fine hike..
