Eighteen eager hikers gathered at the circle to listen to the full safety spiel before heading out to Stanrock Rd and the trail head. We had some hikers that had been away for the summer come back and we enjoyed getting to know the two newer hikers to our group.
The trail is in good shape with only one blow down that was easily gotten under or around depending on the preferences of the hiker.The only drawback was the amount of ferns and the height of said ferns. The leader stressed that there would be these ferns at the circle and she found herself doing the breaststroke in order to get through them. We enjoyed our lunch break at the second Grants trail sign and lookout over Rye Lake and then made our way back to the cars.
It was a great hike with great hikers.
