RENEE'S SHERRIF CREEK STOMP 2023 09 05

“A TBA hike today, but Renee F. brought the sign up sheets to make it an “official hike”, and Jim came up with the idea for a hike. He was at the front leading the way, and Renee F. was the sweep, together keeping the troops together…7 in total.

We started off from the parking area opposite Sheriff Lake, following the Yellow Trail to just past the first entrance to the Blue Trail.  From there we went on a VTA connector trail to Horne Lake. This was a new trail for many of us and we all enjoyed that section very much in spite of a continuous climb! From there we continued on the Horne Lake Trail to the lookout over Horne Lake and had our snack break, enjoying the view. We continued on our trek and turned onto the Blue Trail bringing us back to the intersection of the Yellow Trail, and eventually back to the cars. An enjoyable 5 km plus hike, and a very doable because of the shade in the bush, in spite of the heat. Thanks Jim for coming up with this suggestion for our hike today!”
