“Today’s hike took us to the infamous Bellingham Bush with a system of trails that no one can understand apart from Jim! In the past, hiking the Snakes and Ladders Trail always meant there would be points of confusion of where to go next (unless Jim was there) because ribbon markers of various colours were everywhere!
On Friday, Sue, Louise, and I decided that once and for all we would conquer Snakes and Ladders by putting up permanent white markers. And it was a success! Today’s hike went smoothly with no wrong turns! We took a snack break at the infamous teetering rock and then continued to the ATV trail. Instead of turning right, as is the norm for this hike, we went left, following the ATV for a bit before turning onto a lovely trail in the bush. We then hiked up a trail behind Beckett, crossed the Feltz snow dump, continued down a very steep hill to Glendon Park Trail, and followed it in and out of the bush, eventually making our way back to the cars. 8 hikers came out, and for most, the latter part of the trail was new to them, but all enjoyed it.”
