David led 12 north on a fine sunny day.
a new hiker joined us as we tackled the "Snow shoe Trail." Half of us eschewed snow shoes and just went with boots. The trail has been packed down by prior users.
chickadees spotted us and came for treats.
There was a tree down on the trail last time I was there so I brought along the chainsaw. Someone else had already removed the impediment so the saw was superfluous. (and I thought it was electric !!)
Lovely sunshine and quick pace got us out to the Serpent river for a break and snack. A long way off otter was spotted at the open water.
We returned via the second, less used, arm and that was barrier free too. When we were back on the main trail, Sue spotted a small tree that would be across the trail soon and Keith used the saw for the first time on behalf of the club.. YEAH...
Arrived at the cars, smiling and happy. Great weather, good trail, great conditions and superb company.
even did a bit of scouting for a better workaround the springtime wet spot.
