Peak Lake Fire / Farewell to the Camino Girls:
The fantastic 4 returned for a hike on a beautiful,warm morning. It was not a complete sausage festival as we were joined at the parking lot for a Camino Girls rendezvous as we bid them farewell on their epic trip to Portugal. At least 2 pairs of Hoka shoes were present. We were not deterred by the watery terrain as we headed north on the Little Quirk Lake main trail. Various animal droppings were examined by our droppings expert. Allan's Trail was in good shape and we had a fire where the hike leader roasted his own sausages. After an extended, relaxing lunch, we proceeded along the lake where Don retrieved an impressive "Gandalf" staff which we took as an inspiration to climb the hills for the return trip. A quick stop at a viewpoint where we could see Rooster Rock. A good 3 hours in the woods for all.
