In spite of forecasted rain, 7 hikers made our way to Banana Lake along Liz's Trail. The rain over the last few days certainly brightened up the foliage and made for beautiful colours along our path. And slippery conditions underfoot. But our group safely made our way around several large puddles and over a small creek without mishap (only one adrenaline moment on slippery rock).
Moose tracks in the mud, slugs enjoying a bite to eat and picking edible mushrooms made the hike interesting. The forecasted rain caught us finishing our snack break at Liz's Bench overlooking Banana Lake, and, although it did not last very long, we were wet before rain gear was put on. The clouds cleared and the sun helped dry us on our return leg of the hike. About 5 km on a beautiful trail, during a pleasant morning with interesting company.
