Three hikers gathered to welcome a beautifully sunny day, despite a chilly temperature of -19°C, and headed out to strap on snowshoes for the first time this season. The Snowshoe Trail did not disappoint. The snow-covered trees and the soft quietness of the forest (except for that explosion of wings by a startled partridge) were perfect. Hardly even noticed the cold... unless you had to take your mitts off to blow your nose! By the end of the hike, the thought of a car heater was pretty exciting but all agreed it had been an enjoyable outing.
