Slipper Lake Walkabout - The 2nd hike of the Frame Crescent Hiking Club
was a snowy down and up check-up on the south side of Slipper Lake. Thescheduled trip to the Mellon Lake area was aborted due to some moderate
snowfall on the radar which turned out to be correct. Two hikers from
the same street attempted to find a user-friendly route down the steep
treed hill to the lake. Unsuccessful, so we moved over to the more open
and flat deciduous area. A snowy lunch right on the shoreline and then
a quick trek back to the ATV trail and home. The hike leader has
promised further investigation to this area, so close to town.
